The Greek Prune Olive Variety

It is also known as Gaidourelia or Gaidourolia which means donkey olive. Its botanical name is Olea europaea var.macrocarpa or molis or prunera. It is likely a descendant of an ancient Greek variety, named Orchas or Orchemon.

The specific characteristic of this tree is that, it produces extremely large fruits naturally. This is obviously due to its genetic material (DNA). The weight of the fruit often reaches 20gr, but there have also been found olives weighing more than 30gr.

Its fruit yields excellent table olives and olive oil with a particular taste.
